Me & Dallas
SurvivingKaos may have started with one human, but it’s definitely a two-member operation. Meet Chelsie—the creator, storyteller, and professional chaos coordinator—and Dallas, her four-legged best friend, unofficial therapist, and frequent inspiration behind it all. Together, we’re creating honest conversations, meaningful products, a little humor, and hopefully leaving some happy behind wherever we go.

THE STORY BEHIND THE KAOS
Why I’m Still Here?
Have you ever heard the words, “But I have promises to keep, and miles to go before I sleep”?
They come from Robert Frost’s Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening. The poem’s closing lines are often interpreted as a reflection on duty and endurance, but for many people, they have come to mean something more: keep going. Stay.
I have those words tattooed on my ribcage.
I got them after surviving multiple suicide attempts. They were a promise to my mother, who loves me with everything she has, that I would never put her through that pain again.
But depression doesn’t care about promises.
I became so sick that I broke mine.
At this point, I’ve lost count of some of the details. I believe I have survived approximately six suicide attempts and have been hospitalized for psychiatric treatment around ten times.
These weren’t moments when I wanted attention.
I wanted to die.
And eventually, I heard words from a doctor that I will never forget:
“There is no hope of recovery.”

Humor & Healing
01
When Dallas Gets Jealous
There's a specific look in Dallas's eye when I try to talk to someone else. It's the 'I am the only one who understands' stare. It's actually pretty therapeutic.

My Therapy Dog's Therapy
He doesn't need a therapist. He just needs a person to sit next to him. That's the real healing. Dallas is my primary support system.

Laughing Through the Storm
When life gets heavy, I just need to find the humor. Dallas and I have a running joke about the 'Kaos' in my name. It keeps me grounded.
